UNN has installed more than 5,000 km of fibre and passed 220,000 premises, replacing legacy copper to deliver symmetric 100 Mbps baseline speeds. To improve customer experience and support applications requiring higher data throughputs and very low latency, UNN has committed to increase the adoption of fibre optic technology through a planned 5-year program of modernizing infrastructure and equipment and migrate legacy connections from. Brunei Darussalam is shaping up as a bandwidth transit hub for the Bornean States of Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan. Terrestrial fibre optic cables connect these Bornean States to Brunei cable landing stations which then provide direct connectivity to 9 international destinations, namely Singapore.
