These are easy to use and don't pull the workpiece towards the drill so are safer than helical drill bits. The main function of the explosion-proof distribution box is to ensure the normal operation of electrical equipment in flammable and explosive environments and to prevent explosion accidents caused by electrical sparks. What tools do I use to drill clean holes in both the plastic and aluminum enclosures so that the cable glands fit snugly without any gaps? I tried searching for M20 drill bits and thread taping, but couldnt really find anything solid. Can I drill holes on side of electrical box or do I have to use the prefabbed holes? Here's what I have Thanks Archived post. It seems like I've previously seen in the installation instructions information about installing drain holes in the bottom of the box for moisture/water to escape.
