Sierra Leone has high rainfall (2,500mm/year) for hydro, viable wind speeds, and strong solar exposure—ideal for renewables. The government restructured the sector in 2015, unbundling the National Power Authority into the Electricity Generation and Transmission Company (EGTC) and the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA), under the regulatory oversight of the Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission. This Compact presents a strategic framework to accelerate access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy, targeting 78% national electricity access by 2030 while enabling inclusive economic g tion has access to electricity.
